The Annual Food & Wine Tasting Event was held on Sunday October 15th, 2023, at the Morgan Samuels Venue in Canandaigua. The event featured 2 local chefs who conducted cooking demos for a group of guests from the surrounding Finger Lakes area.
Chef Abraham Sanchez demonstrated how to make fresh Gnocchi and served it with three different homemade sauces for the demo and started off with their signature soup, the Tomato Gouda Bisque soup, and ended the demo with 3 incredible desserts for everyone to try. All the desserts are prepared daily and only the freshest ingredients are used for all their main dishes and specialty items at Peppers Family Restaurant. The wine pairing for the Peppers Demo for the Cheese Gnocchi was with Dr. Konstantin Frank, Salmon Run Coho Red.
Chef Orlando O’Neill demonstrated and presented his amazing appetizer, the Potato crusted grilled Salmon, served over a pea puree with a fresh green shoot salad with a traditional balsamic vinaigrette, this appetizer just melted in your mouth. We had such an amazing time, and we were also introduced to some traditional entrees as well as some international dishes only found in Europe. The wine pairing for the Salmon Appetizer was with a Dr. Konstantin Frank, 2021 Salmon Run Chardonnay.
Rose’s Culinary Corner provided international dishes that were amazing. Hungarian Vadasz a traditional European delicacy- a venison tenderloin, slow roasted & cooked with bacon, onion, vinegar blended into a smooth browned gravy served over mashed potatoes. The wine pairing for the Hungarian Vadasz was with Dr. Konstantin Frank, Cabernet Sauvignon.
